YESS@2: Young People Can Make The Difference!

Posted on July 13, 2021

Young people can change the scope of political decision making processes if they decide to.

What is needed is a departure from the current norm which is a major corollary of military bastardization of our Leaderdhip selection schema; a situation where political support is strictly Mercantile and transactional. Politics of the “highest bidder”.

At some point, I was caught in that rat race thinking — a sense of unwholesome entitlement  mentality that requires political office seekers to “pay” for every support they get from us. This is the exact point from where we must begin to debate “reducing the cost of governance”.  But, we don’t, afterall people rarely blame themselves in the face of self inflicted crisis.

At YESS Anambra, the philosophy is different. We are here today celebrating 2 years of political volunteerism. Young people adopting the freshness of ideas over sloganeering and pocket induced activism. We are proud of our scorecard, and are happy to walk to the future with the virtues of the past.

Happy Anniversary to us!
