How Oyetola Won My Heart – Aboyeji, Foursquare General Overseer

Posted on July 25, 2021

The General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church, Reverend Samuel Aboyeji, has described the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the State of Osun, as a yardstick of good governance, revealing that Mr Oyetola won his heart with his people-based policies.

Aboyeji described the essence of governance as service, adding that Oyetola had consistently demonstrated that the welfare of his people is the essence of his administration.

Reverend Aboyeji, speaking at the Office of the Governor of the State of Osun, Abere, during his courtesy call on the Governor on Friday, said there had been a positive change in the State since Oyetola’s emergence, describing him as a father.

“I personally love the authority and leadership of the Governor of this State. Those of us sitting on the sideline have observed a positive change in Osun since his emergence. From our own standpoint, looking at what is happening in Osun, I can say that the Governor has won my heart.

“One principal thing that God expects governments to do is to secure people and to make them live in peace. Life becomes much more difficult when people are not secure and there are crises and confusions. I think to a large extent, the Governor Oyetola has been able to achieve peace and security in the State.

“We have come to express our gratitude this day. There was a time we had to lift up our voices in prayer concerning the State of Osun, but today, we will be ungrateful if we do not return the glory to God”, Aboyeji said.

He added that the Foursquare Gospel Church, which is driven by the mandate to impact the younger generation under his leadership, had been on a two-week skill acquisition programme for youths in the State, noting that about 400 young people had been trained in different vocations.

In his remark, the Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, who lauded the drive of the Church for youth development, said his administration has shown interest and commitment in youth development.

This commitment, according to Oyetola, had been further buttressed by the launch of the Osun Youth Policy document, which x-rays the totality of agenda for growth and development of youths in the State.

Oyetola, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, said: “When the church is equally interested in a programme such as youth development, it gives us joy in the realisation that prioritising the future of youths is a step in the right direction”.

Oyetola also commended the church for its continued supplications on behalf of the government, adding that the milestones achieved by his administration so far were evidence of the efficacy of prayers.
