Ikeja Council Boss, Engr. Dr. Balogun Swears-In Newly Elected Councillors

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Engr. Dr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun, has officially proclaimed the 7th Legislative Council of Ikeja Local Government Area, Lagos State.

The inauguration and proclamation ceremony took place at the Council Secretariat, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja.

In his remarks, the Council Chairman urges the Councilors to come up with by-laws that will further ensure the improvement of citizenry.

“The task ahead is enormous. I charge you to create by-laws which are people-oriented and constituents friendly” –  Dr. Mojeed Balogun asserted.

Immediately after the proclamation of Councillors, the House sat. Hon Ayotunde Adenuga was elected as the Leader and Speaker of the Legislative House while Hon. Nurudeen Basheer emerged as Deputy Leader, Hon. Idris Oladipupo Hassan emerged as Majority Leader while Hon. Benjamin Osundairo emerged as Chief whip.

Other legislators of the house are; Comrade Yasin Olaniyi Olowolagba and Hon. Ganiyu Oladeji Saibu.

The proclamation was attended by Ikeja APC apex Leaders, party loyalists, management team of Ikeja LG council, as well as friends and well-wishers of the inaugurated Legislators.
