How Local Charms Failed Dare Devil Armed Robbers During Operation

Daredevil armed robbery suspects, Samuel Akabueze, 31 and Onuoha Joshua, 37, who had hoped on the potency of local charms, were arrested during operation in Lagos State as the charms failed.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects, Akabueze who lives at 34, Valentine Obasi Street, Idimu Road, and Onuoha Joshua, of 52, Yusuf Street, Ipaja, both in Alimosho area, were arrested by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad along Akowonjo Road of Lagos State.
The suspects, who are both from Imo State, were arrested for driving a Lexus SUV (LSD 666 GK) suspiciously along Akowonjo Road by the RRS operatives, who trailed them to the point of arrest after suspecting them to be armed robbers.
The suspicion paid off when they were searched and exhibits found on them included a locally made gun with two (2) rounds of ammunition, four (4) ATM cards, consisting of Ecobank and Access Bank, charms, BRT cowry card, two different keys of another different Lexus SUV and a motorcycle.
During interrogation, they were found to be suspected notorious criminals perpetrating series of robbery across different locations in Lagos and both confessed to be members of ‘Aye Confraternity’, who combine robbery and cultism activities at the same time.
The Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, who confirmed the arrest, has equally transferred the two suspects to the Lagos State Command for discreet investigation in line with the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu.
The success story was in line with the sustained sundry crimes surveillance patrols across suspected flash points in Lagos as directed by the Police boss, CP Odumosu. The operatives of the RRS are dutifully carrying out the directive to curb the State of the activities of the criminal elements.
According to Police sources, the suspects will be charged before the Court after the conclusion of investigation. The alleged offence attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty.
