Golf: Egbaland’s Four Kingdoms To Battle At King’s Cup On 9 Oct

It will be battle of the kingdoms at the second edition of King’s Golf Cup which holds from 8-10 October, 2021 at the Abeokuta Golf Club, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.

P.M. EXPRESS reports that no less than 150 goffers are expected to take part in the tournaments where the four kingdoms that make up of Egbaland will do battle for honours.

Arrival of 150 players male and female is 8th October, competition proper holds on 9th October and departure 10th October.

A press conference to herald the tournament was held at the golf club in Abeokuta Tuesday morning.

Chairman organising committee of the tournament, Wale Adeogun confirmed than between 140  to 150 goffers would be in action when the event gets underway among the four kingdoms in Egbaland.

The four kingdoms are the defending champions, Owu, Ake, Gbagura and Osile.

“It is going to be an exciting event among the four kingdoms in Egbaland and I am happy to announce to you all that we are expecting nothing less than 150 goffers to be in action for their various kingdoms when the event tees off on 10 September,” Adeogun said.

Adeogun also disclosed that during the one day event, COVID-19 health protocols would be strictly observed by the participants, as medical teams would be on ground during the game.

Under the auspices of Nilayo Sports Management Ltd, the King’s Cup was fashioned after the Ryder’s Cup. P.M. EXPRESS understands that the star prizes of a return ticket from Kenya Airways and a cash prize of N1 million await the winner.
