Ikorodu Comes Alive, As Lagos Sports Summer Camp Phase 2 Begins
Just like what happened in Badagry during phase one of the 2021 Lagos Sports Summer Camp between 15-21 August, the city of Ikorodu is already bubbling as no fewer than 120 students from Lagos East Senatorial District converged at Oriwu College, Ikorodu for the second phase of the camping exercise.
The idea behind this camp is for the students to be exposed to the rudiments of some selected sports and learn life skills activities.
Wholly supported by the sports loving Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Sports Commission is leaving nothing to chance to ensure the success of the camp meant for children from age 9 to 14.
In this second phase which will end on 28 August, the Sports Commission will be consolidating on the success recorded during phase 1 in Badagry where some budding talents have been discovered.
The participants will be engaged in 60 percent sports and 40 percent life skills aimed at unlocking their potentials. The Campers, who are from both public and private schools, will be exposed to sports which include Athletics , Basketball, Chess, Darts, Fives, Judo, Scrabble, Monopoly and Volleyball.
For the life skills activities, they are being taught Art Work, Art and Craft, Hat Making, Tie and Dye, Make-Up, Hairdressing and Power Bank Battery production.
P.M.
