A 33-year old man, Imoleayo Adekoya, has given severe emotional punishment to a 27-year old lady by raping her for refusing to greet him when they met on the road.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ipoji area of Ogun State, where they reside.

The suspect, Imoleayo, has been arrested by the Police operatives from the Ogun State Command, who also recovered the lady’s pant and clothes, which he tore, as exhibits for prosecution over the dastardly act.

This was disclosed by the Ogun State Police Public Relations on Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed that the suspect was in Police custody undergoing interrogation.

He stated that Imoleayo was arrested on Saturday, 28th August, 2021, following a report lodged at Sakora Divisional Headquarters Shagamu by the lady.

The lady suffered her fate after the suspect had complained that while she was coming from Ipoji area, she reportedly did not greet him.

DSP Oyeyemi, in a statement stated, “The victim told the Police that she apologized to him, that it was because she didn’t know him”.
“But surprisingly, the man pounced on her, started beating and dragged her to the back of his house, where he forcefully tore her clothes and pant and forcefully had sex with her despite her shouting and struggling.”

” During interrogation, the suspect, Imoleayo, confessed to the commission of the crime but claimed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time.”

Oyeyemi stated he will be charged before the Court after the conclusion of investigation.
