2 Suspects Nabbed With Fake Naira Notes At Lagos Mammy Market

Two suspects have landed in trouble after they went to a military barrack’s market in Lagos to spend fake naira notes.
The suspects, Ifeanyi Imo, 33 and Michael Okwute, 35, were arrested and charged before a Lagos court for being in possession of counterfeit naira notes and have been remanded in a prison custody.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspects and other at large went to the Nigerian Army Cantonment mammy market at Ojo with load of fake naira notes.
At a beer joint, they bought drinks indiscreetly which raised suspicion that the suspects might other motives behind their spending.
When they pay for the drinks, the beer joint owner, Ngozi Ebere was suspicious of the monies she was given and double checked only to discover that they were fake notes and she raised an alarm.
The two suspects were promptly arrested while their accomplices escaped.
Some fake notes were also recovered from them and tendered before the police as exhibits.
The suspects were handed over to the police by the military authority and subsequently charged to court.
At the Apapa Magistrates’ court where they were arraigned, they pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr. T. Abolarinwa granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 10 May 2017.
