A 29-year-old man, Oladejo Rahmon Ademide, has been arraigned before the Magistrate Court sitting in Ikeja Magisterial District, for allegedly recording the nude pictures and video of a lady without her consent and threatening to upload it on social media at Alagbado, Alakuko area of Lagos State.
Oladejo Rahmon Ademide was brought before Magistrate Mrs O. Kusanu on a two-count charge bordering on conduct likely to cause breach of peace and threat to life with violence, contrary to the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Prosecutor SP Philip Adegbemuji told the court that Oladejo Rahmon Ademide committed the offences at Dalemo Road, Mao Junction, Alagbado, Alakuko, Lagos State, within the Ikeja Magisterial District.
According to the charge sheet marked Charge No. MIK/…2026 – Commissioner of Police Vs Oladejo Rahmon Ademide ‘M’ 29 Years, prepared by the Divisional Police Officer, Alakuko Division, CSP Abdulkadir Song, and IPO W/Inspr Raheem Aisha, of Alakuko Division, the defendant in count one sometime in the month of December, 2025, at about 10:30am at Dalemo Road, Mao Junction, Alagbado, Alakuko, Lagos, allegedly conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by taking pictures and video recording of the nudes of one Mariam Tiamiyu without her consent.
The offence is said to be contrary to and punishable under Section 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.
In count two, SP Philip Adegbemuji alleged that Oladejo Rahmon Ademide between 3rd March, 2026 to 13th October, 2026, at about 10:30am at the same Dalemo Road, Mao Junction, Alagbado, Alakuko, did threaten one Mariam Tiamiyu with violence through Whatsapp messages, voice notes and a Snapchat group named “LEAK PROJECT” to upload her nude pictures in his possession on social media if she refused to bring herself to him.
The police said the threat through Whatsapp and Snapchat to leak private pictures is contrary to and punishable under Section 56 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015, which deals with threatening violence.
The prosecutor told the Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba that the complainant, Mariam Tiamiyu, reported at Alakuko Police Division that the defendant, whom she knew, allegedly recorded her private nude images without consent in December 2025 and thereafter started sending her threat messages from March 2026 that he would leak the pictures on Whatsapp and Snapchat group if she did not comply with his demands.
The police at Alakuko Division, after receiving the complaint, arrested Oladejo Rahmon Ademide at Alagbado area and recovered evidence of Whatsapp chats, voice notes and the Snapchat group allegedly created for the purpose, before charging him to court.
When the charge was read to Oladejo Rahmon Ademide before Mrs O. Kusanu, he pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
Magistrate Mrs O. Kusanu, after listening to the plea, granted him bail in liberal terms pending the perfection of bail conditions.
Mrs O. Kusanu admitted Oladejo Rahmon Ademide to bail with two sureties who must show evidence of means of livelihood and evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government. The sureties must also be residents within the jurisdiction of the court and must present verifiable addresses, while the defendant was ordered to deposit his means of identification with the court registrar.
Pending the perfection of his bail conditions, Magistrate Mrs O. Kusanu ordered that Oladejo Rahmon Ademide be remanded in the Correctional Centre.
The Magistrate adjourned the matter for mention and directed that the case file be duplicated for further hearing, while warning the defendant to stay away from the complainant and not to publish or share any image of the complainant on social media pending trial.
The court emphasized that Oladejo Rahmon Ademide is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction as guaranteed under the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
If found guilty under Section 168(d) and Section 56, he is liable to imprisonment as prescribed by law.
