Serial DSS, Police, EFCC Impostor Nabbed in Lagos

A man, Francis Uyanwunne who has been parading himself as a triple agent of the Department of State Security, DSS, Nigerian Police Force, NPF and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC while allegedly perpetrating fraud has been arrested.
The 41-year old suspect was arrested in Lagos after he allegedly defrauded one John Ogbuka of N290,000 under the false pretense of assisting him to facilitate the release of an undisclosed criminal suspect who is in EFCC custody.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that after Uyanwune obtained the money from the victim, he allegedly bolted away without carrying out what he agreed to do.
The matter was reported to the police who sent out detectives to trail Uyanwune and later arrested him.
Our correspondent gathered that after Uyanwune was arrested, the police carried out an investigation on his activities and they discovered that his claim as security agents was false.
The police also recovered from him the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC identity card which has been kept at the station as exhibits to be tendered in court for his prosecution.
Our correspondent gathered that when police carried out further investigation, it was discovered that Uyanwune had no relationship or connection with those agents and was using their name to defraud innocent people.
He was charged before Ogba Magistrate’s court for fraud and stealing under the Criminal Code.
When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr E.O. Ogunkanmi granted him bail in the sum of N100,00 with two sureties in like sum.
However, the court ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 19 May 2017.
