Abuja 2018 NSF: Team Lagos Begin Southwest Zonal Eliminations In Bright Start

The Southwest Zonal Eliminations for Abuja 2018 National Sports Festival get underway at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan with Team Lagos winning most of their matches played on Thursday.

The basketball teams in both male and female categories won their matches. The male team beat Team Oyo 66-64 points., while the Lagos basketball girls team overwhelmed Team Oyo in 79-37 points. Team Lagos also defeated Ekiti in both the men and women’s Volleyball by 3-0 in the two matches. The Lagos team won hockey (male) at the expense of Ogun State 1-0. Lagos team in the female football beat Oyo state 1-0.

In Hockey, the Lagos male team defeated their Ogun State counterparts 1-0, while Lagos male Handball team won their match against Ondo State 36-30 points. Lagos male team also won their cricket game against Oyo state.

The female cricket game between Lagos and Ogun has to be postponed to Friday due to heavy downpour.
