Flying Eagles goalie, Ikechukwu Nwosu Nathaniel has expressed confidence that they would pick a semi final ticket at the ongoing African Games.

Nathaniel who is currently playing for Water Football Club of Abuja told our correspondent yesterday evening after their training session.

Nigeria Flying Eagles would confront Young Teranga Lion of Senegal by 9pm today (Nigeria Time) at the Accra International Stadium.

Nigeria need a draw or win to qualify for the semi final while Senegal need outright victory over its opponents to book a place in the semi final.

Nathaniel who was at his best against South Sudan noted the importance of the game and boasting that his teammates are in high spirits to give their opponents a run for their money.

“We are going to today’s match with high expectations and we cannot afford to lose to our opponents. It is another tough match for us because both of us are fighting for semi final ticket.

“We are going to the match with our full strength and determination.Having realised our mistakes in the second match, our coach, Ladan Bosso and other coaching crew have corrected it in the training session so Nigerians should expect nothing less than victory against our opponents today,”he said.

Nathaniel however urged Nigerians to continue supporting and praying for them rather than criticising them during or after the match.

“We can only beg our fans in Ghana and Nigeria they should continue stand by us.I know the fans expect more from us but the most important thing for now is their support and prayers so that we can go far in the tournament,”he said.
