Chief Akubueze Congratulates Oba Ojoto, New Executives & Stakeholders Over Ohanaeze Peaceful Election

Chief Sir Oliver Akubueze (Mmiri Ndigbo), President Emeritus of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has extended his congratulations to the newly elected executives of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, led by Chief Leonard Okafor (Oba Ojoto) in Lagos State. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the congratulatory message followed the successful election held on 6th April, 2026, where Oba Ojoto emerged as the president.

 

In his statement, Dr Akubueze, who served as President Emeritus from 2009-2013 and is the current Chairman of the Elders/Stakeholders Council of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, described the election as “free, fair, smooth, colourful, and peaceful”.

 

He thanked the stakeholders who made the election possible, including the electoral committee led by Honourable Callistus Odoemena.

 

Chief Akubueze specifically congratulated Chief Solomon Ognonna and Chief Sunday Ossai for promoting peace, enabling the election to take place. He also extended his congratulations to all winners of various positions, including Oba Ojoto as President, Nze Edwin Egboka (Eze Eziokwu)  as Deputy, Chief Princess Nkem Igwe as Women Leader, and Chief Mike as Secretary and others.

 

In his message, Chief Akubueze reminded the new executives that the progress of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State rests on their shoulders. He urged them to support and show loyalty to the President, Oba Ojoto, avoiding backbiting and bickering that could hinder his leadership.

 

Chief Akubueze emphasized that the success of the new administration would benefit all members, encouraging everyone to work together and support the president. He also advised members with concerns to reach out to the president for solutions rather than causing trouble.

 

The President Emeritus concluded by appealing to all Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State members to pray for the success of the new administration, ensuring they complete their tenure and elevate the organization to greater heights.

 

Chief Akubueze’s message reflects the organization’s commitment to unity and progress. His support for the new leadership is expected to foster cooperation and stability within Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.
