Again Senator Adeola Trains & Empowers 480 Lagos West Constituents In ICT

The Chairman Senate Committee on Finance and the legislator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), has trained and empowered another set of 480 Constituents in different areas in ICT.
The programme, which the distinguished Senator organised in collaboration with the Federal Cooperative College, Ibadan, Oyo State, took place on Wednesday 5th April, 2023, at Academy Guest House, Agidigbi, Ikeja, Lagos
The Graduation/Empowerment commenced after the opening prayers and National Anthem with parents and relatives of the graduands filling the hall to full capacity.
The opening remarks was given by one of the facilitators, Mr. Babatunde Osho, who praised the distinguished Senator for the gesture depicting genuine love for his Lagos West Constituents.
One of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Lagos West, Yomi Tijani, used the opportunity the event afforded to eulogise the respected lawmaker for quality representation. He charged the graduands to maximize the opportunity of a lifetime and make good use of everything they were taught.
The audience were thrilled by a beautifully crafted poem in honour of Senator Adeola, which was rendered by one of the participants, Mr. Samuel Ayodele, who is a teacher at Tomia Community Senior Secondary School, located within Lagos West Senatorial District.
The hall erupted into dancing and cheers with the introduction of the host, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, by the compere.
The distinguished Senator, in his remarks said, “It is with great pleasure that I address you on this occasion marking the graduation, presentation of certificates and empowerment of some of my critical constituents as represented by teachers and students. I am delighted to witness this event targeted at Human Resource Development for teachers and educational advancement for youth in my senatorial district, Lagos West. I am happy that my constituents are beneficiaries of this initiatives facilitated by me in the important area of Information, Communication and Technology, ICT”.
“As part of my representative functions to my constituents over the years, I have made it of paramount importance that youths in my constituency are given requisite skills to established them in gainful self-employment or to broaden their knowledge base. Towards this end, many trainings for skill acquisition, entrepreneurship development and ICT as well as empowerment with equipment and grants had taken place in the past with thousands of beneficiaries that are now gainfully employed.”
“Only last year on June 20, I held a similar programme targeted at tertiary education graduates with 1000 youths certificated in various ICT programmes that are internationally recognized.
My facilitations for ICT training dates back to my years as a state legislator representing Alimosho State Constituency 2. I sponsored many youths for trainings in ICT at the reputable NIIT with certification that led to engagement by corporate organizations and other gainful self-employment.”
“The current training involves 480 participants made up of 255 Teachers and 225 Students. They were all nominated by the Lagos State Educational Board from across the 10 LGAs of Lagos West Senatorial District. I am informed that the training involves acquisition of ICT Skills in Educational and Academic Presentation, Basic and Advance Excel and Digital Marketing.”
“In association with Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and Federal Cooperative College, Ibadan, I facilitated the training of the nominated candidates for a period spanning 5 weeks in different locations in Lagos West.  At the end of their training, participants are being given Certificates and brand new laptops.”
“Let me state that in the remaining period of my service as Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, I will continue to deliver effective representation to my constituents in all walks of life with resources available for the largest senatorial district in Nigeria in terms of population inclusive of similar trainings and skills acquisition” he assured.
Senator Solomon Adeola also used the opportunity the event afforded to charge parents to take good care of their children and not allow them to be used by politicians, who lost the recently concluded elections and had been inciting people to protest against the outcome. He assured the audience that the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, possessed the capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy and take Nigeria to enviable heights.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of 480 laptops to graduands consisting of trained teachers (255) and students (225), which was supervised by Senator Solomon Adeola and the dignitaries present. The distinguished lawmaker also gave out cash to the participants to transport themselves home.
