Agege Local Government Holds Year 2026 Budget Retreat

From 1-3 December 2025, Agege Local Government is holding the Year 2026 Budget Retreat to give the people of the council the desired dividends of democracy.
P.M. EXPRESS reports that the theme of the three-day retreat, which is being held at Osmark Hotels & Suites in Ibadan, Oyo State, is Budget of Restoration, Innovation & Development.

Day One of the retreat has in attendance major stakeholders in the local government, including the past chairmen of Agege Local Government, Hon. Jubril Abdulkareem and Hon. Abdulganiyu Kola Egunjobi. Also in attendance is the immediate past chairman of Orile Agege Local Government, Hon. J.S. Babatunde and His Royal Highness (Surv.) Oba Abdul-Lateef Oladimeji Egbeyemi, the Ologba of Ogba.
In his speech, Hon. Jubril Abdulkareem acknowledged and commended the efforts of the new administration of the local government headed by Hon. Abdulganiyu Vinod Obasa, with the support of the Council Manager, Mr Sogo Oshikoya. He said the chairman, since he assumed office, has been reshaping and changing the narration of governance and public affairs in Agege.

He appealed to the management team of the council to keep up the good work, adding that budget is a critical and important practice which determines the feasibility and effectiveness of government plans.
To Hon. J.S. Babatunde, budgeting is very important to aid development in any community, adding that every public office holder should know that he or she is in a position to serve God and serve humanity.
The Ologba of Ogba gave a thought-provoking speech. He described the budget retreat as a timely exercise to influence and fast-track development, as it brings good innovation and restoration to the local government.
“A development agenda that doesn’t address the welfare of the people is incomplete. The budget is not merely a set of figures; it’s a statement of responsibility,” the monarch said.
