Agritech Nigeria Exhibition Event Excites Osun Hoteliers

Association of hoteliers in the State of Osun has shown their readiness to joint force with the organisers of Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018, the first and largest agricultural exhibition and conference in Africa which will holds in Osogbo in November this year.

Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 event, an exhibition and Conference on agriculture, farm machineries, dairy, poultry, water technology, livestock equipment, agriculture processing technologies and environmental control, will be organized by the Government of the State of Osun, Fesco Agalu Enterprises Nigeria Limited, Kenes Exhibition of Israel, organiser of Agritech Israel and SIFAX Group of Companies.

The hoteliers made known their readiness to work for the success of the event during a meeting held at the Government Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo on Wednesday. The meeting, which took place at the boardroom of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, was attended by executives of Association of Hoteliers, Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Claudius Kolajo, Coordinating Director, Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Bukola Aluko, Coordinator, Anchor Programme, Ministry of Agriculture, Mr Sanmi Bamidele and Mrs Adetomilola Olufunmilayo Osonde, Director of Logistics,  Fesco Agalu Enterprises Nigeria Limited.

The hoteliers showed their excitement that they could be part of the first-ever agriculture exhibition and conference taking place in Nigeria. The chairman of the association, Dr Jimoh Agboola said his association was glad that the organisers of the event informed them earlier enough so that they on their own part will begin preparation ahead of the Agritech event.

Special Adviser on Agriculture, Hon. Kolajo told the hoteliers that the organisers of the Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 event considered them as crucial stakeholders to the success of the programme, adding that the State of Osun will witness influx of people across the world, which is never happened in the history of the state.

“The event will be a melting point where over 1000 international and local exhibitors will assemble. A gathering of more than 400,000 visitors all over the world to discuss business opportunities in agriculture.

“We will need many hotels of international standard to take care of the accommodation of the participants. This is the reason we have to meet with the hoteliers association to let them know that we have a big job on our hands. They should upgrade their hotels and ensure that they are registered and listed on the official website of Agritech Nigeria (www.agritechnigeria.net) from where our international visitors will book their accommodation.

“The benefits of hosting Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 are so many, every citizen of the state stand to gain a lot and the multiplier effects is huge. The Governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is solidly behind this programme. He has assured adequate security before, during and after the event.

“This programme will also promote Osun cultural tourism as delegation from abroad would have the opportunity of seeing the beauty of Osun tourism, Hon Kolajo said.
