In the light of the commencement of the Dangote Oil refinery, the Association of Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) recently held a meeting with the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, at the group headquarters in Lagos State.

The meeting aimed to explore potential collaboration opportunities between the aviation industry and the Dangote oil refinery, which is poised to become one of Africa’s largest oil refining facilities.

The collaboration between Dangote Refinery and the Airline Operators of Nigeria holds immense strategic significance for the aviation industry.

The reliable supply of Jet A1 fuel from the Dangote Refinery will ensure the availability of fuel for airlines in Nigeria, eliminating uncertainties and operational challenges associated with importing aviation fuel. This will enhance operational efficiency, minimize flight delays, and boost the overall reliability of the industry.

Present at the meeting were (L-R) Professor Obiora Okonkwo, OFR, Chairman of United Nigeria Airline and Spokesperson for the Airlines Operators of Nigeria; Abdulmunaf Sarina, Chairman of Azman Air; Fatima Dangote, Group Executive Director of Dangote Industries; Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Industries; Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace; Shehu Wada, Executive Director of Max Air; and Rabiu Umar, Group Commercial Director of Dangote Industries.
