Akume Inaugurates Olasupo As Member Of NEITI (South West)

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, on Tuesday inaugurated Hon. Abdul Jeleel Adekunle Olasupo among the new members representing South West on the 6th National Stakeholders Working Group (NSWG) board of the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).
The SGF, during the inauguration in his office in Abuja said, “Your appointment and inauguration, which is taking place here today, is another positive statement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s open support, commitment to transparency and accountability in the extractive industry and management of our economic resources, and especially given the mandate and objectives of the NEITI”.
“The present administration is passionate and remains fully committed to the global Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), the work of NEITI and the visible impacts which the EITI process has achieved so far in Nigeria.”
Olasupo attended Jamatul Islamiyat Primary school, Patey Lagos and later joined Jubril Martins Memorial Grammar School III, now known as Iponri Grammar School, Lagos. After he proceeded with his University education at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York. He later attended the State University at Albany for his Post Graduate course.
Olasupo worked with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance as a Miscellaneous Tax Auditor at the Capital Region Office (CRO) in Albany; New York, United State of America. Prior to now, he had served as a Revenue Consultant to Lagos Government as well as LCDAs in Lagos State. And one of the mentees of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC party stalwart in Lagos.
Akume, while congratulating the members, said that President Tinubu carefully selected members of the board based on their diverse competencies, skills, knowledge, integrity and track record of service in their previous assignments.
“As members of this board, your job is clearly and specifically evolving strategic policy direction and oversight that supports NEITI management and the secretariat to continue to implement its activities smoothly without any distractions or interference, Akume said.
