Alimosho League: IGU Suffer Home Defeat, As Samjason Continue Unbeaten Run In Week 6

Iyaloja General United Football Club, IGU suffered home defeat following their 0-1 loss to Newtown G Football Club in week six of Alimosho Football Coaches Council Football League which played recently at Igando football pitch, Lagos.

IGU who were tipped by football pundits to win their opponents gave an account of themselves as they were unlucky to have lost the match which cost them a temporary setback on the table.

Head coach of IGU, Mohammed Jamiu Aberejo commended his players for their good performance despite defeat. He said his team were better but unfortunately they lost to a weak team.

“We were just unlucky because we played a good game. Honestly, we deserved the victory but all I can say is that we created more scoring chances which my boys failed to convert cost us home defeat. We would go back home and prepare for Kotech FC in our next away match,” he said.

Meanwhile, the match between defending champions, Samjason and Bucknor was another tough game as defending champions managed to defeat their opponents with a lone goal.

Chima Samuel 65th minute strike was all Samjason needed to clinch the three-point at stake. The goal pushed the home team to the top of the table with 14 points. With this victory, Samjason still maintain an unbeaten run in the last six matches

Meanwhile, in a week seven fixtures released by the organisers, Newtown G would be at home against Kedge Sports on Wednesday. NISSI would welcome defending champions, Samjason at Ejigbo sports centre on Thursday as Bucknor would be at home to face H2U on Thursday.

Action resumes on Friday when Flying Wings would be a guest to Leyenda as IGU would face Kotech in their home ground on Saturday.
