Ambode’s Wrestle Force Tourney LOC Visit LTV For Media Support

The Local Organising Committee, LOC, of the A+A Intercontinental Wrestle Force Championship has visited Lagos Television (LTV) to solicit for the support of the broadcast station.
The A+A Wrestle Force Championship, a competition put together to celebrate the achievements of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode since he assumed office, will hold at 14 centres in three Senatorial Districts of Lagos State from 4-18 December, 2016.
The LOC led by Chairman, Otunba Dengel Anifowoshe were at the LTV corporate office in Ikeja where they were received by the management team led by Oba Adeoye, Director of Programmes on behalf of the General Manager, Mr. Deji Balogun.
Otunba Anifowoshe explained the important role LTV has been playing in information dissemination to the people of Lagos State, a reason it is imperative for the station to be carried along by the LOC in its bid to organise a befitting tournament for Governor Ambode.
“We are here on a mission to solicit the support of LTV in recognition of the role the station has been playing in projecting the image of the state positively. The A+A Intercontinental Wrestle Force Championship is born out of the policy of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to use sports as a vehicle to keep our teeming youths busy and expose the tourism potentials of Lagos to outside world.
“This is an international tournament which will feature about 49 wrestlers across the world. Lagos will be the focus of the world for the duration of two weeks we are staging this tournament and we believe we need a broadcast station such as LTV to support our efforts in reaching out to Lagosians and our prospective sponsors, ” said Otunba Anifowoshe, who is also the Chairman of Community Development Associations (CDAs) in the 57 local governments in Lagos.
Coordinator of the competition, Prince Hammed Olanrewaju Mohammed paid glowing tributes to Governor Ambode for giving his backing to the competition, adding that apart from wrestling contest, the event will also see staging of beauty contest tagged Miss Bolanle Patience Ambode Beauty Pageant Lagos 2016.
In his response on behalf of LTV management, Mr. Oba commended the LOC for recognising the importance role the station is playing in Lagos. He recalled that wrestling was the most entertaining out of all the sporting activities, adding that wrestling as a sports comes with series of drama on the ring.
“Taking the tournament to all the senatorial districts in Lagos is a good idea that will further popularise the game as people in the grassroots, who were before now used to watch wrestling action on television, will have the opportunity to watch live these international wrestlers in Lagos.
“On behalf of the management of LTV, I want to assure you of our support to this laudable project being packaged to project the image of the state to the world, ” Adeoye said.
Other members of the station’s management at the meeting included Mrs Siju Alabi, Director, News & Current Affairs, Mrs Toyin Ayanbadejo, Head, Admin & Human Resources, Mr Kunle Adeoye, Head of Finance and Mr. Toyin Olagoke, Director of Technical Services.
Other members of the entourage on the visit were Alhaji Rasak Lawal, who is representing Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Hon Mudashiru Obasa in the LOC and Mr. Taiwo Adelu, a member of Media Committee.
