Some aggrieved residents of FESTAC Town, Lagos State, Nigeria has lambasted the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, AOLG, Engr Valentine Buraimoh for not paying enough attention to the filthy state of the environment.

The aggrieved residents knocked the underperforming Chairman for also not calling the automobile dealers, who have taken over the entire walkways in FESTAC Town.

Some of the residents, who spoke with our correspondent registered their grievances towards the Chairman for turning blind eyes to the unruly behaviours of the car dealers especially on the walkways, thereby disrupting human movement.
They alleged that his arms are tied because his palms might have been greased by the car dealers operating on the walkways.

An aggrieved resident, who craved anonymity said FESTAC has lost its serenity under the close watch of the Chairman. According to another resident, Uche Ibeh “We are not finding walking on the walkways easy due to the activities of these car dealers, even when you trying to correct them they ignore us with the excuse that they have parking permit issued to them by the LG.”

When our correspondent asked for a copy of the parking permit he couldn’t produce any, instead he directed our correspondent to the LG Secretariat, saying “If you are in doubt go to the Secretariat to confirm”

Another miffed resident said if Buraimoh had continued with the legacies of his predecessor, Comrade Ayodele Adewale things wouldn’t have gone out of hands.

Effort to speak with the Information Department of the Local Government proved abortive as nobody was ready to speak regarding the issue.
