Anambra Is Waiting For The Prof. Chidi Odinkalu-Led Truth, Justice & Peace Committee
We have witnessed an avalanche of suggestions/recommendations on how to take back our state from criminal elements who are working against the IPOB directives and the collective interest of our people. This demonstrates that the institution of the committee is timely. Indeed, there is no gaining that Anambra and other Southeast states are at a precipice and urgent actions are needed to take back the states. I observed Prof. Odinkalu at close quarters at the end of year lecture of the League of Anambra Professionals, which he jointly delivered with Femi Falana some years ago. Later, I monitored him again during the brief period he participated in Anambra Alliance (AA), a social media platform for change which membership predominantly comprises Anambra professionals. He comes across as someone genuinely committed to common good. He and other members of the committee share this traits. Across the state, there is a high level of confidence and trust that they are tailor-made for the assignment.
Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo has prioritised security of life and property as a precursor to unleashing his vision of a Liveable and prosperous smart Megacity in which private sector investment is pivotal on the premise that capital is a coward.
So as Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo await the take off of the committee and its methodology, there is general belief that their findings and recommendations will go a long way in fostering more sustainable solutions to the current security imblioglio. All said, Anambra needs to return to its pre-eminent position as the safest state in Nigeria. After all, Solution is here.
Be of good cheer.
