Anambra: On The Dawn Of A New Dispensation!
PRINCE OKWUDILI EMELUMADU

Ndi Anambra be anyi, Congratulations. We have elected and sworn in our choice to pilot the affairs of our dear state, Anambra, for at least the next four years.
The former governor Obiano, as I heard, is a good man but had a lot of distractions around him. Most times, these distractions hoodwink him that he never gets well informed on the needs of the masses. He was almost a catastrophic failure, but he had one of the bravest men of Anambra extraction. Who stood at the vanguard of socio-political and economic development, serving as watch of the masses; offering constructive criticism and making sure that the good of governance gets to the people as much as it did.
Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili, Ogene Igbo, refused to be bought over with money or political appointment in Obiano’s government. Rather, he wore the title, THE PRODIGAL SON OF APGA, as a badge of honour and assumed the conscience of governance. In doing so, he became Obiano’s adviser on good governance (unpaid). He adopted all the best practices of media politicking to constantly give feedback to the governor, even when nobody wants to hear him speak! He spoke truth to the authorities, unequivocal and no matter whose ox was gored. Even when media rats were hired to attack his personality, with all sorts of lies and defaming stories, he remained committed to the course, without rancour or any form of bitterness. He remained constructive in his criticism and never abused or insulted anybody. Today, I’m sure, Obiano has him to thank for all he did. Congratulations , Ogene, you saved Anambra. May history forever be kind to you, Odogwu.
To Professor Charles Soludo, a lot of distractions will overwhelm you. They are mostly from sycophants; men whose interest is in their pockets. They play the “politics of fu nfujo akpa” — prebendalism. But I hope you remain a good man as people have said, and unswerving in your resolution to place Anambra on the paths of economic development and prosperity. Beware of praise singers, they will hoodwink you and leave you perpetually uninformed. I believe, Ogene, will not keep quiet nor relent from being the soldier of good governance. May your tenure be a smooth ride that will finally place my dear state on the trajectories of socio-economic development.
Long live Anambra!
May we succeed!
May we realize the promises of development!
