Anambra Polls 2021: APGA May Not Present Old Face As Flag Bearer

The responsibility to make choices in political life rests with each individual in light of a properly formed conscience. As an APGA member planning to vote, as a faithful citizen, I will heed the call for a new dawn to inform my conscience. I will also exercise my personal responsibility to study comprehensively the aspirants, and their manifestos.

In all fairness, it has been a stiff competition ahead of the party primary; the keen contest is between the old and new faces. Since the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC published the timetable for the Anambra Governorship election 2021, APGA has been working round the clock to present the best man to represent the party at the polls. Reading the prevailing political situation, I make bold to posit that APGA may not present an old face as the Gubernatorial flag bearer in the forthcoming governorship election.

The reasons are not far fetched. Old faces, who had become perennial Gubernatorial aspirants, may not bring the trophy home, and APGA cannot afford to lose Anambra State. Being the party’s stronghold, no stone will be left unturned in the dogged effort to retain power. But the electorates are not ignorant of the antics of the old faces, who had once or twice occupied elective or appointive positions in the past with nothing to show for it, absolutely nothing to show ndi Anambra, no recognizable achievements.

These sophisticated voters could not have forgotten the old face’s inglorious reign, how it was adjudged inimical toward the concept of developmental governance. All over the spatial space, the old faces are hovering around like hawks scheming to snatch the APGA Gubernatorial ticket. Only recently, the old faces in a desperate move launched a premeditated media war against the party leadership because their selfish plots are unrealistic, and hope has dimmed. Soon, it would be “I no go gree”.

I call on the APGA delegates to apply wisdom to vote for a decent candidate, who is committed to the common good, respectful of human life and dignity at all times. One who is devoted to truth and justice, knowledgeable and able to work with others. One who is humble and poised to making Anambra greater than he would meet it.

All APGA faithfuls should see it as a collective responsibility to make the man with a clean slate, one with no blemishes, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo “Oputa  Ifeadi” the party’s flag bearer for the November 6 governorship election. He is the APGA’s Face of Hope.

Ekenem!
