The trust deficit between the government and the governed is alarmingly wide in Nigeria. This is as a result of many years of failed promises, policy summersault and improper implementation of government programmes and projects.

Above is the statement of problem underscoring Gov. Soludo’s insistence that trust must be rebuilt between the government and the people. Today, it has become a common saying that Soludo is rapidly restoring the people’s trust in their government through his many peoplecentric Interventions from projects to policies.

The first batch of the 1youth 2skills initiative that began 8 months ago with intensive trialing and mentorship sessions for over 5000 Anambra Youths came to a climax on the 27th of October when the Governor graduated the first set of beneficiaries, presenting them with a cheque of 2billion Naira as seed capital to start up their businesses.

Yesterday (1st November) and today (2nd November) has seen a rain of cheques across the 21 local governments in the State. I saw first hand, young people making bold statements of faith in government. I pray these seeds given to them will bear great fruits. Imagine if 10% of this first set succeed to become strong SMEs… Gov. Soludo would have, indeed, planted an oak.
