Antichrist, 24, Arrested For Attempting To Plant Charms At Lekki Toll Gate

A 24-year old man, Chukwu Chika, a.k.a Antichrist, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to plant charms at Lekki toll gate in Lagos, where the EndSARS protest took place and was caught in the act.


P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 20th October, 2021, being the eve of EndSARS protest anniversary in Lagos State. 

However, the Police intelligence team, who noticed his action at night apprehended him and took him to the SCID for further investigation over his conduct.

The motive behind his action was not disclosed by the Police, who arrested him with the exhibits including a cow horn, hammer and other items.

During interrogation, he was said to have disclosed to have gone to plant those items there in preparation for the EndSARS anniversary slated for the next day, so that the security agents will not disturb them during the anniversary at the toll gate.

But his action has landed him in trouble, he was not only prevented from planting the charms at the toll gate, he has been equally arrested, charged before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court and remanded in custody.

He was charged for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace, which if found culpable after trial may spend several months in custody for the alleged offence.

When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty. 

The prosecutor, Inspector D. Awazi, asked the Court to give short adjournment to enable the Police to prove he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. F.F. George, granted him bail in the sum of N150,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The matter was adjourned to 10th December, 2021, for mention and was remanded in correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
