The Executive Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and South East Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma, has stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national level has acknowledged that the South East geopolitical zone is marginalized in the scheme of things.
He promised that the party has initiated the process of de-marginalization of the zone.
The Governor made this statement while addressing party faithful at Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi state, during the APC South East Stakeholders’ meeting.
He expressed gratitude to the National Chairman for instituting the programme of de-marginalization of Ndi Igbo within the system and solicited the support of the people to actualize the programme.
“I want to thank our National Chairman for the programme of de-marginalization of Ndi Igbo,” he said.
“The beauty of this programme is that the National leadership has acknowledged that we are being marginalized, and they have taken it upon themselves to de-marginalize us.”
“All we are asking for now is your support and cooperation.”
The Governor also called for unity among the party’s rank and file within the zone, noting that nothing can be achieved without a sense of unity of purpose.
The National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Umar Ganduje, reiterated and confirmed the position of the Governor while assuring that the process of de-marginalization of the zone is in top gear
