The President and Founder, Pius Alile Coalition Initiative (PACI), and Convener of the Edo 2024 APC political conference, Hon. Pius Alile, has emphasized the imperative of APC winning the next Governorship Election in Edo State.

Hon. Pius Alile, speaking before thousands of APC members and decampees from other political parties in the APC organized event sponsored by him, stated that if the APC failed to win, they will lose the opportunity to avail Edo people the benefit of the good plans they have for them. Discrediting the development agenda of the incumbent governor, Alile said that what count for development for the Obaseki led PDP Government are: “promises of grand development ideas hung in the imagination of the people.”

The astute APC chieftain and grassroots mobilizer and political financier noted that Obaseki, who started his governorship reign as an APC Governor, had shown the promising potential of an APC Governor when he was handed the enviable legacy of the Adams Oshiomhole administration until he started fighting the leaders of the APC, including “Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, upon whose benevolence he had become governor.”

Hon. Pius Alile stated further that “Having become a PDP Governor by decamping prior to the 2020 Governorship Election, Godwin Obaseki became the kind of administrator we feared for our party and for Edo State..” Alile said that under the PDP Government, Edo State is in a nightmare that the APC must help to break out from.

“Where are the Gelegele Seaport and the Industrial Park that Obaseki promised to create tens of thousands of jobs for Edo youths, and upon which billions of naira have been wasted as consultancy fees?” Alile asked. He went on to call out the Obaseki-PDP Government on the phantom Emotan Garden City and Edo North Airport projects.

On the state of Edo public schools, Hon. Pius Alile stated thus: “While the PDP Government continues to circulate computer generated images as renovated schools with false narratives in the social media to deceive people, the reality is that many public schools are in pitiable conditions. Since the exit of Adams Oshiomhole with his “Red Roof Revolution”, public school renovation and maintenance have been abandoned by the PDP Government.” Taking a swipe at Obaseki’s sloganized education policy, Alile said “They then came up with the grand delusion of Edo Best in education. Sadly, their best is the worst that we have had in this state.”

Hon. Alile concluded that “Edos are presently under the yoke of broken promises from Obaseki and his PDP Government. The people are in dire need of help, and the APC must come to their rescue by winning the election and providing purposeful governance.”

However, Alile admonished the APC to do the right thing, which is to conduct a free, fair and credible Governorship Primary, and to elect a sellable candidate. He said this is the only way to guarantee a post nomination crisis and winning the election.
