The APC National Women Leader, Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Lami Adamu Lau, a prominent women leader and President of the Nigeria Council for Women Society (NCWS).

Dr. Alile said, “It is with a heavy heart that we confirm the passing of Lami Adamu Lau, on Tuesday, in Kebbi State, during an official engagement”.

“Lami Adamu Lau was a distinguished representative of Taraba State and Nigeria at large, whose impact extended far beyond the state’s borders. Her significant contributions to the advancement of women’s causes mark her as a towering figure in the history of gender activism. Her death has created a substantial void that will be challenging to fill.”

“We offer our deepest sympathies to Lami Lau’s family, the state, and the nation. We pray for the repose of her soul and pledge continued support for women’s inclusion in governance.”

“Lami Adamu Lau’s dedication to the education of the girl child was a source of inspiration, influencing our commitment to promoting educational initiatives. Educating a woman benefits the entire world, a principle exemplified by Lau’s life and work.”

“We reaffirm our commitment to women’s leadership, remembering Lau for her unwavering and principled fight against the oppression of women and her dedication to improving the lives of women and children” Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile.
