APC National Youth Wing Set To Prepare 5000 Nigerian Youths For Employability 

In collaboration with London Professional Training Centre, themed “I AM EMPLOYABLE,” the event according to the convener is scheduled to take place from June 4th to June 7th, 2024, in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Prominent speakers for the event which has been unveiled include but not limited to the former Commissioner for Establishment, Training and Pension Lagos State, Mrs. Jibola Ponnle, Niyi Adesanya, CEO of FifthGear Plus and Management Consultant; and Morayo Afolabi-Brown, General Manager TVC Entertainment.

Others are Tosin Adesina, Yeye-Mide-Fabanwo, Njuara Njama, Dare Akinlaja, Jide Jinadu, Funke Oluwatimilehin, Elizabeth Ajala, Akin Akinpelu, Soji Adeniyi, Sam Obafemi.

The list of facilitators also include Oluseye Taiwo Adepoju, Lesley George, Abiola Champ, Jeph Oluwagbemiga, Stephen Akintayo, and Bode Shogo.

The APC National Youth Wing ‘Workplace Readiness and Employability Skills Training Program’ (WREST) is an employment skills enhancement and office management skills training program that is designed to help young Nigerians aged 18 to 45 develop the core skills that employers desire, improving their ability to secure a job, retain employment, and move flexibly in the labor market.

This program will equip participants with better personal-branding skills for effective CV and Resume presentation, core workplace skills, new ways of thinking and accomplishing tasks, as well as competitive ways of living in a global society.

In a press release personally signed by the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress Dr. Dayo Israel, he said the theme, of the Program ‘I Am Employable’ is in line with the 2024-2027 Strategic Youth Masterplan initiative to form economic capacity of young Nigerians and equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to their communities, with the underlying objective of contributing to our Nation’s structural transformation and economic growth by enhancing employability and labor productivity and reducing unemployment.

“This initiative is part of the APC National Youth Wing Strategic MasterPlan 2024-2027, reflecting my commitment to fostering youth empowerment and development through strategic initiatives and partnerships. It underscores a strong dedication to youth capacity development, targeting youths, undergraduates, graduates, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, and individuals transitioning careers, aiming to enhance their employability in today’s competitive job market.”

Speaking further, APC National Youth Leader and Program Convener, Dr. Dayo Israel said that the Primary goal is to improve the economic capacity of young Nigerians, especially young progressives, by empowering them with the necessary core skills that will enhance their ability to secure a job, retain employment, and move flexibly in the labor market.

Dr. Dayo Israel further stated that  “This initiative is a crucial step in our broader strategy to foster youth development and economic growth in Nigeria in line with the renewed hope manifesto of our President and commander in chief, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Registration portal has since been opened to Interested individuals, youth groups and indeed Nigerians youth irrespective of party affiliation, race, colour or ethnicity. The registration takes just 1 minutes to conclude the process and qualified individual will be contacted and plans have been put in place for a seamless training.
