Applause For Rev (Mother) Esther Ajayi, As NFF Boss Praises Her Support For Oshoala Foundation

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick, has praised sports philanthropist Rev (Mother) Esther Abimbola Ajayi for her role in the development of sports in Nigeria especially in the area of funding and support.

The clergywoman, Esther Ajayi sponsored the just concluded Asisat Oshoala Foundation organised Football4girls Project held at the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos Island recently.

According to Pinnick, more Nigerians  like Esther Ajayi are needed in the sports arena.

“I have heard a lot about our Rev. Mother supporting the supporters club and also boxers and now it’s female football. I’m really happy with this development. I must confess, we want more people like her in the sports arena,” Pinnick said .

Meanwhile, it was fun and funfair as Asisat Oshoala Foundation empowered girls with a football clinic and competition with the
aim of empowering the girl child through the use of education and sports.

This year’s edition of the #football4girls tournament which  was rounded up on December 24th 2019 at the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos Island was huge success featuring Nigerians Women League All Stars playing against a selected side of the Asisat Oshola Foundation. The exhibition match  ended 2-0 in favour of the Asisat Oshoala Foundation Team.

Similarly, a team of Nigeria international footballers featuring Victor Osihmen, Odion Ighalo, Kenneth Omeruo, Sylvester Igboun, Ramon Azeez and NFF president, Amaju Pinnick defeated the Celebrity All Stars team 3-2.

The Celebrity All Stars had Pasuma, Nedu Waziobia, Ijebu, Small Doctor amongst others in their squad.

Courtesy of Rev (Mother) Esther Ajayi various cash prizes were give to three outstanding players during the clinic. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) was also given a golden opportunity to  go for a trial in Spain, while the rest of the girls would be given scholarship to horn their skills in football at the FC Barcelona Academy in Lagos.

The Football4Girls programme had financial support from The Esther Ajayi Foundation.
