Area M Commander, ACP Aboniwonda Holds Stakeholders Meeting On Security In Alimosho

The Area Commander, Area M Command, Idimu, Lagos, ACP Tokunbo Aboniwonda, has summoned a stakeholders meeting on security to work in synergy with members of the public in order to continue to protect lives and property in Alimosho Local Government Area of the State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the meeting was held at the Area M Command, Idimu conference hall and was well attended by critical stakeholders in Alimosho Local Government Area under the Command.

Those who attended the meeting included the Divisional Police Officers of the Area M Command, traditional rulers that cut across all the ethnic groups, businessmen, artisans, captains of industry, market men and women among others.

The Area Commander, ACP Aboniwonda, stated that the essence of the meeting was to get the critical stakeholders involved in the security arrangement of the Command and solicit for the support of all the stakeholders to ensure that the people living within the Command are protected and secured.

Aboniwonda stated that she has come to work to secure Alimosho and cannot do it alone and so needs the support of the critical stakeholders in Alimosho under Area M Command, Idimu, to achieve the feat.

 

In preparation for the upcoming local government elections,  she stated that Area M Police Command is ready to foster collaboration and build confidence among residents. She underscored the Police Command’s commitment to maintaining peace, order, and fairness before, during, and after the elections.

 

ACP Abaniwonda reiterated and emphasized that the Command is fully mobilized to ensure a secure and violence free electoral process knowing fully that Alimosho, being the most populous local government area in Nigeria, acknowledged the unique security challenges it faces.

 

However, the Police leadership assured that adequate measures have been put in place under the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Olukayode Egbetokun, and the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh Moshood. These measures aim to safeguard lives and property and preserve the integrity of the election process.

 

He urged the stakeholders to act responsibly and avoid any activities that could disrupt the elections. The Police also called on residents to serve as ambassadors of peace, setting a standard that other regions can emulate in future elections.

 

The Area Commander noted that cultism remains a significant challenge within Alimosho. To this end, the Command revealed that ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, the National Coordinator of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), will be visiting the area to lead an intensive awareness campaign. The initiative will focus on sensitizing youths and residents on the dangers of cult related activities and other social vices.

 

Some of the stakeholders, who attended the event commended the Area Commander for summoning the meeting because it was the right thing to do and promised to cooperate with the Command in maintaining peace and order in Alimosho Local Government Area.
