The commissioning of the Ultimum Beverages Plant in Osisioma LGA on Wednesday, 25 March, marks a major milestone in Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s drive to industrialize Aba and Abia State. The event highlights his administration’s commitment to boosting industrial growth, creating jobs, and positioning the state as a vibrant hub of economic activity and investment.

At the core of Governor Otti’s industrial strategy is the revival of dormant industries acquired from the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), including the Star Paper Mills in Owerrinta and Aba. These long-inactive facilities are being rehabilitated and prepared for efficient private-sector management, ensuring they contribute meaningfully to job creation, economic diversification, and local development.

The administration has also made strategic investments in critical infrastructure to support manufacturing and attract new industries. Upgraded industrial layouts, improved road networks, reliable power supply, and other essential amenities are creating a business-friendly environment. These initiatives not only support existing industries but also position Aba as a prime destination for further private-sector investment.

The Ultimum Beverages Plant is expected to generate substantial direct and indirect employment while stimulating related industries across Aba and its environs. This development further cements the city’s status as a commercial and industrial hub and illustrates how strategic government intervention can catalyze sustainable economic growth.

Since assuming office in 2023, Governor Otti has demonstrated an unshakable commitment to transforming Abia State. From reviving moribund industries to facilitating new private-sector ventures, his administration continues to turn inherited challenges into opportunities for economic empowerment and social development. The commissioning of Ultimum Beverages is more than the inauguration of a new industry; it is a testament to the administration’s vision of a modern, industrialized Abia State where employment, investment, and prosperity shall flourish.
