Across the length and breadth of Osun State, a movement is gathering momentum. From Osogbo to Modakeke, from Ila to Ejigbo, from Ifetedo to Iwo, Ikire, Ede, Ilesa and beyond, one name continues to dominate political conversations and grassroots engagement; Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

What began as widespread acceptance of his candidacy has evolved into a formidable grassroots movement. The ongoing inauguration of thousands of canvassers across the federal constituencies is no longer a routine political exercise; it has become a massive mobilization effort that bears all the hallmarks of a grand campaign. Everywhere the exercise is held, the enthusiasm is unmistakable, the participation overwhelming and the message consistent: Osun is ready for AMBO. Recent campaign activities have seen the APC inaugurate over 100,000 canvassers, charging them with taking the party’s message directly to every community and household while AMBO continues to unveil his economic vision centered on investment, job creation, agriculture, commerce and youth empowerment.

AMBO’s growing popularity is not accidental. His public service trajectory speaks for itself. A seasoned banker, former Commissioner for Finance under two administrations, former Special Adviser in the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and the current Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), he has built a reputation around competence, fiscal discipline and results-driven leadership. His campaign message focuses on rebuilding Osun’s economy, expanding opportunities for young people, empowering women and restoring confidence in governance.

Beyond the campaign rhetoric lies something even more significant, the people’s connection with the candidate. The chants of “AMBO! AMBO!! AMBO!!!” are no longer confined to political gatherings. They now echo through markets, communities, social gatherings and town halls, reflecting a growing belief that Osun deserves experienced, accessible and visionary leadership. This organic acceptance is steadily transforming into a statewide movement.

With every canvasser inaugurated, every community visited and every handshake exchanged, the journey to August 15 gathers greater momentum. The message is spreading from doorstep to doorstep, ward to ward and local government to local government. The road ahead may still require hard work, but one thing is increasingly evident: AMBO is not merely contesting an election, he is leading a movement built on hope, preparation and the determination to usher Osun into a new era of prosperity.
