The memories of the 2021 edition of Asisat Oshoala Football4girls Tournament would linger on in the minds of the participating players, who not only enjoy being exposed to the rudiments of the round leather game but had the opportunity of meeting one of the successful Nigerian women in the business world, Mrs Bola Atta, the CEO of UBA Foundation.

Atta, who is also the Group Director, Corporate Communications, UBA; Executive Producer at REDTV, was a special guest during the final ceremony of the sixth edition held at Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

Multiple award-winning CEO of UBA Foundation used her presence to talk to the girls on the importance of taking their education seriously, adding that even if they are talented and skilful in football, education will also give them a better future, especially when there is no energy to play the game on the field again.

She mentored the girls on the importance of girl-child and education.

The tournament, which featured, among other things, mentorship sessions, life skills and medical programmes, was supported by the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission, Emzor Pharmaceuticals, UBA Foundation, Molped sanitary pad and Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, a philanthropist and founder of Nxtion Family, a Pentecostal Church based in London.
