Baaroyin Odunaro For Installation As Osorun Of Isaga Orile
Following the nomination of Chief Kayode Odunaro, Chief of Staff to Senator Solomon Adeola, the chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriations, as the Osorun of Isaga Orile by the Osorun Families spread across different parts of Ogun State and beyond and the subsequent acceptance by the Isaga Orile Traditional Council, Chief Odunaro will be installed as Osorun of Isaga Orile next weekend at Isaga Orile, Abeokuta North LGA, Ogun State.
According to Mr. Oseni Isola, Secretary, Osorun Family, Isale Odofin, the installation ceremony is to be done by His Royal Majesty Oba Joseph Oladele Olusoji Tella, the Onisaga of Isaga Kingdom alongside other chieftaincy titles.
Before now, Chief Odunaro holds the title of Baaroyin of Imalaland as bestowed of him by Oba (Apostle) Adegboyega Olabode, (mni), the Omala of Imalaland, Abeokuta North LGA, 19 years ago as well as the Majeobaje of Olu Ilaro from Oba(Dr) Kehinde Olugbenle MFR, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland.
The Osorun title, one of the six king makers of Isaga Orile, is reserved for only members of the Osorun family of Isaga descent and was last held by Chief Matthew Adisa Olojede Onifade, an uncle of Chief Odunaro, who was installed in 1958 and passed on in 1988. The title originates from Oyo Empire where the people of Isaga migrated from.
Recalled that following the pre-colonial Dahomean War, the people of Isaga Orile were dispersed into various settlements with distinct royalties in Ogun State and Lagos State as well as Benin Republic but Isaga Orile remains the origin of all Isagas across the world.
