Baptist Girls’ High School Old Students Appreciates Osun Govt On Education Policy Review

The Old Students of Baptist Girls’ High School, Osogbo, on Wednesday expressed appreciation to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for approving the review of education policies as suggested by the education review committee to reposition the sector in the state.

The old students of the school stated this during a courtesy visit to the state’s Special Adviser on Education Hon. Jamiu Olawumi.

The Baptist Girls’ high school Old Students who were led on the courtesy visit by Prof. Olajide Adedokun expressed appreciation to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for listening to the yearnings of education stakeholders on the review of the school reclassification.

Prof. Adedokun who said members of the old students association had never been happy with the reclassification policy said the members are now very delighted that the school will not only return to it’s original status but will also be allowed to use it’s former uniform.

She then pledged the support of the association to the state government especially on ways to continue to move the state’s education sector forward.

Addressing the old students during the visit which also had in attendance,Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode who incidentally happens to be an old student of the school said Governor Oyetola is a grassroots man who will continue to run an inclusive government for the benefit of the masses.

Egbemode who recalled how the Baptist Girls School, Osogbo helped in moulding her to become the woman she is today, said the reversal of the education policy is a good thing that has happened to the education sector in the state.

In a remark, the Special Adviser to the Govenor on Education, Hon. Jamiu Olawumi while thanking the old students for the visit described education as a sector which affects every aspect of human life, stressing that any policy that affects the sector must be well thought out before being implemented.

Highlights of the event were presentation of gifts to the Commissioner for Education and Information and Civic Orientation and Special Adviser on Education.
