Bash Ali Becomes AIT’s Brand Ambassador, As Fight Promo Hits Airwave

The ambition of Nigerian Bashiru Lawrence Ali, OON, having his dream of staging the Guinness Book of World Record championship in Nigeria is getting brighter by the day, as Daar Communications, owner of African Independent Television (AIT), Ray Power radio and FAAJI FM, this week signed him as its Brand Ambassador.
PM EXPRESS can report that apart from Ali, who is fondly called Bash Ali by his teeming fans, being a Brand Ambassador to the largest television network in Africa, the television station will effect from Friday, 8 September, begin massive publicity campaign on its network for the Guinness Book of World Record fight which will take place before the year runs out.
The fight, which is coming on the platforms of World Boxing Federation (WBF) and International Boxing Union (IBU), will be between Nigeria’s World Boxing Federation (WBF) cruiserweight champion and American Rick Camlin, an IBU champion, has been in the pipeline for several years, suffering different kinds of hitches, despite approvals of two sitting Nigerian presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.. President Muhammadu Buhari when he assumed power appended his approval again in 2015.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped from a source who was privy to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Bash Ali and the management of Daar Communications that AIT will begin “massive fight promo on Friday from 6pm interview and again on 8pm News Hour. It continues on Saturday and Sunday, while the fight promo blast will start on Monday.”
The world champion himself confirmed to P. P.M.EXPRESS that Nigerians should watch out for the promo as all arrangements are in top gear to staged the historic fight tagged “The Final Showdown” in Nigeria.
He said that despite renew pressure to shift the fight venue from Nigeria by the international boxing body because of lackadaisical attitude of the government, he still insists of fighting in the presence of his people. He noted that President Buhari, as the father of the nation, is solidly behind the project which will add values to the country if properly organised.

“There is no going back on this Guinness Book of World Record fight. I want to rewrite boxing history here in Nigeria. It is going to shake the world that a black man from Nigeria will be the oldest boxer to win a world boxing title. The Federal Government promised the enabling environment. This is a great plus moving forward with the organisation of the fight, ” he said early on Friday.
