Billionaire Rasaq Okoya, Wife Celebrate Justice Oguntade At 80 In London

Nigeria’s foremost billionaire industrialist, Aare Rasaq Okoya and his delectable wife, Sade Okoya were among the select high flying celebrity couples in London to celebrate with the renowned jurist and Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador George Adesola Oguntade who clocked 80 on Tuesday, March 10.

The Nigerian Jurist and diplomat has elected to have a small celebration in commemoration of his landmark 80th birthday and his closest buddy, Chief Okoya was around.

In a short congratulatory message, Okoya has written: “Happy 80th birthday to Ore Mi Atata, His Excellency Justice George Adesola Oguntade, Nigeria High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Best wishes always.”

The Okoya and Oguntade families are like Siamese twins.

The two patriarchs are fond of each other so it was expected that Chief Okoya and his wife took time off their ever demanding business and social engagements to fly to the United Kingdom to celebrate with this great Nigerian statesman who joins the Octogenarian club.

Ambassador Oguntade, CFR, CON, who was born in Epe, Lagos on March 10, 1940 is a retired Nigerian jurist who served as Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria from May 19, 2004 to May 10, 2010.

In his years as a judge, Oguntade was brilliant, fearless and incorruptible.

From a lowly place, he rose to the apex of the legal profession through a dint of hard work.

He started his legal career as a clerk at the High Court of Justice, Ibadan. And it is on record that his distinguished career saw him through being a Judge of the Lagos High Court, presiding Justice of several states’ Courts of Appeal until he berthed as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on May 19, 2004.

The revered jurist assumed duty at the Nigeria High Commission on 9 October 2017 and has served in Nigeria’s most important foreign mission meritoriously to date.
