A 2-year old girl was allegedly defiled through forceful penetration by a 17-year old boy in Ngor Okpala area of Imo State.

The girl has been taken to the hospital in the area and the result of the test conducted stated that there was deep penetration and she lost her virginity.

The suspect reportedly lured the victim into an apartment, removed her pant and forcefully penetrated and injured her in the process.

According to the residents, a woman who noticed what happened between the suspect and the victim raised alarm which prompted  the youths in the community to wade into this matter by visiting the two families on 6th August, 2020, to investigate the dastardly act.

However, the investigation was not concrete enough and they proceeded to a Government hospital, where the little girl was admitted and it was proven medically that the little girl was raped.
The matter was then reported to the Police; the suspect was arrested and detained at the Station where he made confessional statement.

Police sources said that the DPO has ordered the matter to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID in Owerri Police Command for further investigation.

The suspect risks several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty for the alleged offence before the Court despite his age, Police sources said.
