Burna Boy Releases Video For Singles ‘Wonderful’ Off Forthcoming Album ‘Twice As Tall’

Posted on July 1, 2020

Nigeria’s award-winning Afro-fusion sensation, Burna Boy releases the first video for his latest hit single ‘Wonderful’, off his ‘Twice As Tall’ album slated for release later this year.

This comes on the heels of winning the Best International Act for the annual Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award two times in a row (2019 and 2020).

As a proponent of Africa and Blackness, we see a ‘Wonderful’ video with Burna celebrating his motherland, his ancestry and his African-ness.

Shot in Lagos and directed by Director K of JM Films, Burna Boy is a warrior whose opponents capture, but his firm belief in his ancestors give him the strength to overcome and win over his foes.

According to ‘Burna Boy’, something is changing as the colourful and celebratory video sees familiar dance moves pivot a refreshing direction to the usual Burna Boy music videos.

In usual Burna fashion, the video draws you in especially with powerful ‘Wonderful’ lyrics in Yoruba often associated with the award-winning Afro-Fusion star, like these:

‘Anywhere I go mo n’ lati pada si ile mi
Cuz mama mi won wa ni ile mi
I no want make person tell me say I too Lazy, Oluwaburna of la la ni
As I dey hustle like Adebayor Ogunlesi
No go talk say me I too lazy’.

The visual for ‘Wonderful’ is out today, Wednesday, July 1, 2020, and is available for streaming and download on all music platforms. Watch the video here.
