Samson Ubong, a product of Nigerian side Buruj FC, was on the score sheet for CF Motril in their 2-1 loss to WFC in a Spanish U19 league match played on Sunday evening.
The first half ended goalless, but Ortega Rodrigo opened the scoring for the visitors early in the second half.
Trailing by a goal, the former Berja CF Almeria Espanol, Ubong Samson
was introduced from the bench and made an immediate impact, netting the equalizer in the 67th minute.
However, WFC regained their lead just two minutes later through Martina Anzor, sealing a 2-1 victory despite Motril’s efforts.
Ubong’s goal marked his eighth of the season, along with four assists, highlighting his importance as one of the team’s standout performers.
Having just returned from a trial with Segunda side Granada, where he impressed, Ubong’s form continues to attract interest from clubs across Spain and beyond.
He previously featured for Buruj FC in the Nationwide League One (NLO) last year, further underlining the club’s reputation for nurturing young talent.
