Buruj Spanks Dunkinfield 4-0 In The English Super Cup

Nigeria’s Representatives in the Super Cup, Buruj Sports Academy, on Friday in Manchester started the defence of the title they won in the last edition on a winning note.
Buruj Sports Academy who only Thursday night left the shores of the country for England for the English Super Cup, opened their account with an impressive 4-0 spanking of Dunkinfield Youth team in Manchester.
The Ikorodu-based academy boys against all odds rose to the occasion with determined display to confound their first opponents in the English Super Cup and brightened their chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.
Striker, Alabi Roqeeb, who shone like a million stars bagged a hat-trick in the encounter. While reacting on the heartwarming display of his boys, the CEO of the academy who also doubles as the leader of the contingent, Dr. Salaudeen Waheed, could not hide his feelings and excitement. He hailed the fighting spirit shown by the boys to scale the first hurdle in the tournament despite some daunting challenges.
He also promised that as the tournament progresses, the team will be ready to fly over all obstacles so that they can defend their title as they promised before departing from the country.
“It was a good outing by all standards. We arrived very late due to some logistics bottlenecks but it hardly showed in the composure of the boys. They gave a good account of themselves and hopefully by the time they must have rested very well ahead of our next match, the performance will be far better,” he said with a tone of satisfaction.
