Catamount FC Set For Lagos FA Cup, Other Competitions In Year 2023

Catamount Football Club of Magodo are fully ready to involve in Lagos State Challenge Cup and other high profile football competitions in year 2023.

This was submission of chairman of the club, Olusegun Idris while addressing the players, coaching crew and staff management at the recent club end of the year party held at the rehabilitation sports center, Isheri-Oke, Ojodu Berger, Lagos.

Although Catamount took part at the just concluded Oshorun Saheed Paseda football competition unfortunately the team were eliminated in the first round of the competition.

Idris quickly revealed that the team are ready and reorganised to involve in high profile football competitions.He reminded the players and coaching crew to brace up for the challenges ahead.

“Catamount FC are not well known in Lagos but we are planning to take the bull by the horns in this year by playing Ikeja Divisional Football League,Lagos FA Cup and other high profile football competitions.

“Aside this, we would also play top friendly matches to keep our players fit and ensure that we get ourselves in scouting programmes either within or outside the state.

“We can only do well in this year if we recruit good players and very soon we would announce the date of our open screening so that we can have formidable team that would compete in major competitions, “he said.

Responding, head coach of the team,Waheed Fasasi thanked the club chairman and management for their financial and moral support given the club in the year 2022 and promised that the club would do better in the New Year.

“The management has done its best for the players, coaches and fans and it is left for us to make them happy in our performance.I am ready for the challenges ahead and I also want the management to continue give us all the support in order to achieve our set targets,”he said.

Captain of the team, Ajidahun Kehinde expressed gratitude to the management and promised that they would not disappoint the club in their subsequent competitions.

Awards were also given to the players who were committed, loyal and exhibited high level of discipline in the club.

Also speaking, Team manager of the club,Tayo Dada thanked the players and coaching crew for their commitment and urged them to remain focus and determined in the year 2023.

Catamount FC initially was formerly known known as Encalyon FC in 2003 but was fully registered with Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC in 2017 as Catamount Football club.presently the club has 30 players and coaching crew led by Fasasi.
