Chairman Of Council of Ezendigbo, Eze Agbawodikeizu Nwalozie Passes On

Ndigbo in Lagos State have been thrown into mourning mood following the demise of the Chairman Council of Ndi Ezendigbo of Igbo Speaking Community Lagos State, Eze Agbawodikeizu Nwalozie.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Eze Nwalozie died in Spain recently at the age of 63 after a protracted battle with undisclosed ailments.

 

The late Nwalozie will be remembered for his honesty and integrity which made the Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State to elect him as their Chairman over the years.

 

He held numerous titles before he died including, Asiwaju Ndigbo and Ike Ndigbo of Ikeja before he was eventually crowned Ezendigbo of Ikeja LGA.

 

The late Eze Agbawodikeizu Nwalozie was the second oldest Ezendigbo in Lagos State after Ezendigbo in Amuwo Odofin, Eze Anthony Elui

He was also given the prestigious Chieftaincy title in his home town as the  Aka one of Akabor-Mbaise in Imo State.

Eze Agbowodike Nwalozie reigned for 25 years on the throne as the Ezendigbo Of Ikeja LGA and touched many lives positively.

12th August, 2000, will always be remembered when the Igbo community in Ikeja LGA unanimously crowned him as their Ezendigbo for his outstanding contributions for the welfare of Ndigbo in Lagos State.

Before Nwalozie was crowned as Eze Ndigbo of Ikeja, he was given the Chieftaincy title of Asiwaju Igbo of Alausa- Ikeja on 4th of December 1999.

Eze Nwalozie, while alive, vividly narrated how he was crowned and became Ezendigbo of Ikeja LGA during an interview.

He stated that it was late Chief Austin Ilodibe (Ekenedili Chukwu Motors ) that was first asked to become Ezendigbo in Ikeja but he rejected it and explained that he will not be able to do so before he was recommended by late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s brother, late Chief Beckly.

He stated that he rejected it initially but when the Igbo community continued to persuade him, he reluctantly accepted after he was given the chieftaincy title of Asiwaju Ndigbo for what he had done for Ndigbo in Lagos State especially in the Ikeja axis on 4th December,1999, by Ezendigbo Gburugburu.

Nwalozie explained that he was crowned Ezendigbo in 2000 by the people in Ikeja and the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, which was well attended by prominent Igbo leaders and other ethnic groups.

The late Eze Agbowodike Nwalozie was a successful International businessman, who had traveled to many countries across the world.  He was married with children.

There has been no official response from his family, Council of Ezendigbo and BOT of the Igbo Speaking community despite the fact that the news is trending on the social media.
