Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested two suspected invincible armed robbers, who had been causing havoc in some areas in the State for some time as their charms failed them during an operation.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects,  Adingi Peter, 23 and Udoh Jumbo, 29 were arrested by the Comissioner of Police Special Squad with their charms and firearms including cut to size pistol having terrorized the residents of Ajegunle and Mile 2 areas for some time, which made the residents to think they were invincible.
Their purported invincibility however, came to an end on 15th June, 2022, while they were on operation at Owoyemi Street by Alao Bus Stop in Ajegunle displaying their firearms and charms, which was said to make them to disappear during operations.
But on this particular day, while they were said to be on operation and had a confrontation with the Police, their charms were said to have failed them and they were arrested.
They were taken to the State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja with the arms and charms as exhibits. There they confessed that they were caught because their charms failed them during the operation.
After thorough interrogation and having been found culpable by the Police, they were subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and armed robbery, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are found guilty before the Court.
When they were arraigned, the Court did not take their plea after the prosecutor,  Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the alleged offence for which they were brought to the Court was a capital offence under the law.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, ordered their remand in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
