The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) Anambra State Branch has felicitated with Christians on 2025 Christmas celebration and urged all Christians to observe the Christmas season as a time of fervent prayer, forgiveness, empathy and compassionate action.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was contained in a press statement issued in Awka by the group led by Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme.
The organization highlighted the need for divine intervention to address the nation’s escalating insecurity, economic hardship, hyper‑inflation, unemployment, youth unrest and systemic injustice.
The statement, themed :Forgiveness – A Sign of God’s Presence in Us, was endorsed by Evangelist Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, (Chairman), Comrade Chidi Mbah (Secretary) and Comrade Damian Ogudike (Member).
The group called on believers to:
– Offer special prayers to God for lasting security, peace and solutions to the country’s crises.
– Embrace the spirit of brotherhood by being magnanimous in love, charity and compassion.
– Extend forgiveness to one another, fostering reconciliation and healing within families and communities.
“Christmas is the herald of our salvation; it should inspire us to bring hope, succour and fulfilment to our neighbours, friends, loved ones and the vulnerable,” the release reads. “We must also seek forgiveness from those we have offended and grant it to those who have wronged us – this is the true lesson and essence of Christmas.”
The CLO reaffirmed its commitment to promoting justice, peace and humanitarian values, especially during this period of Christmas, New Year and beyond.
“CLO is wishing all Christians happy Christmas and prosperous new year beyond measures through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen.”
