Communities Clash In Oyo State, As Ilaji League Kicks Off

It is going to be war from Thursday  in Oyo State, as communities in the pacesetting state battle for honours and bragging rights in the first edition of the Ilaji Football League.​
The football competition organized by the management of Akanran based highbrow Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, and sponsored by the CEO of the multi facility resort, Engr.​ Dotun Sanusi, is aimed at forstering love, peace and unity amongst the peoples and communities in the state.​

The soccer championship featuring ten community teams begins Thursday. In the first game, Iseyin United FC will battle for the first three points against Ibarapa United FC. In the second match of week 1 fixtures, Ibadan United FC and Igboho United FC will lock horns.

Other matches of week 1 includes, Oyo United FC tackling Ogbomosho United FC, and Kishi United FC up against Igbeti United FC.
The newly refurbished lush football pitch of the Ilaji stadium, located within the resort will host all the matches of the ten weeks football fiesta.​
