Cooperate With The ‘Men In Yellow’

Basic Sociology teaches that a System is an entity with interconnected and interrelated parts. Thus, whatever happens to the part affects the whole, and vice-versa. This is why we pay attention to our weakest link and work to improve on it before its collateral effect on the entire system becomes a cog.

What the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) is doing in recent time is quite evolutionary, I believe history watchers are already taking copious notes. So far, the steps to bring some dignity to the “men in yellow” has begun with recalibrating their minds – uninstalling old ways and updating their mental software with current versions of their job demands.

According to Governor Soludo, “Ndi Anambra may be difficult to govern, but they are very easy to mobilize”. It is at this kinds of training programs that people feel dignified at what they have been called to do. I am not in doubt that this will make significant difference, no matter how little, to their Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). With this in place, it is only necessary to plead for maximum cooperation from members of the public. Let’s learn to obey traffic rules to make this work easy for our “Men in Yellow”.
