The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has commenced an extensive inspection tour across the Council Area.

The purpose of the tour is to assess the state of infrastructure within Ikeja and to identify areas that require upgrades and development, in line with the Infrastructural Development & Urban Renewal Promise of the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA; AKOD’s blueprint to deliver Better Days for the good people of Ikeja.

Today’s tour began with visits to markets in Anifowoshe, where the Chairman emphasized the need for cleanliness and directed that a public toilet facility be constructed within the market to curb open urination and defecation. He also visited Anifowoshe Primary School, where he inspected the school buildings and noted the dilapidated state of some classrooms. He pledged to rehabilitate the school and upgrade its facilities to world-class standards.

The inspection continued in Ipodo, where the Chairman paid a courtesy call on the Regent of Ikeja, Chief Isiaka Apena. He also inspected the condition of roads and drainages, assuring both the Regent and the CDC Chairperson that the Local Government will soon embark on desilting of the covered drainages. He appealed for the cooperation of market stakeholders during the works.

At Computer Village, the Chairman received firsthand briefings about the activities within the market and assured traders that the government will take necessary steps to properly position the hub for greater efficiency and orderliness.

The inspection tour was carried out in company of the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore (OMITUNTUN), as well as senior civil servants led by the Head of Human Resources, Comrade Jubril Aliu, alongside all Heads of Departments of the Local Council.

At the heart of Comrade Dauda’s leadership is the holistic development of Ikeja. Through the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA, this vision will be realized for the betterment of all residents.
